Product Review
Ever Moist – All natural instant healing spray.
This is a fantastic hoof treatment, especially when used before trimming your horse’s feet. I have been using this product for a few months now mostly spraying my horse’s feet before trimming. Due to the dryness of where I live my horses feet get extremely hard and difficult to trim. I have found that spraying Ever Moist on each foot about 5 minutes before I start trimming makes the whole job a lot easier. When Ever Moist is applied to the feet on a regular basis it can aid in the natural function of the hoof by allowing the hoof to become pliable.
Ever Moist is made out of natural ingredients which include aloe vera, tea tree extract, carrageenan (seaweed) and citric acid –potassium sorbate. There are no petroleum distillates, glycerin, lanolin’s or messy oils, which is wonderful for those of us who are conscious of what we put on or into our horses.
Ever Moist is one of those great multi use products. I have used Ever Moist on, not just the hooves but on a wide variety of issues from tail rubbings to minor wounds to itches on dogs as well as sun burns on the children and as a night cream for myself.
It comes in a 16oz/473ml spray bottle and retails for about $27 plus postage. The only place I have found to buy it in Australia is off EBay. If you go the horse riding section and put “evermoist” in the search bar it should come up. If you would like more information you can go to www.evermoistspray.com

I haven't had a good run with horses this year. I know they say when you hve animals you have to expect losses. Just I wasn't expecting to have to berry 4 horses in the one year.
A couple of days ago I lost Gossip to colic. We think it could be due to an accident he had in September, when he was hit by a toyota. The toyota appeared to be more damaged then Gossip at the time. Gossip appeared to show no real signs of injury except being a little withdrawn. But it cought up with him.
So thank you for being a part of our lives enen if it was only for a very short time.

What a great day the Prairie Races were yesterday.
The kids were the ones that didn't want to come home. It was bute weather although it got pretty cool by the end of the day. All the horses run pretty good. And as usual the food and bar were very good.
Congrats to the Prairie Jockey Club for running a very good day.

The belly lift is an exercise that anybody can do. It may take a little practice and patience to perfect the art.
The belly lift helps to strengthen the belly muscles that help support the horse's topline or back. It is a great exercise to do before and after riding. Before riding it can be itergrated as part of the warm up routine to help the back lift and feel the saddle and after riding as part of the cool down routine to help the circulation get pumping back into the muscles that have been carrying the saddle and rider.
By stratching along the midline of the horse's belly you cause the abdominal muscle to contract or shorten and this inturn causes the muscles along the back line to stretch. And when done properly you will see the spine of the horse lift. It may be only a little rise or it may be quite noticeable depending on the horse.
Your horse may even show the signs of enjoyment on his face as he twists his nose up and stretches his neck out as well.

My good old pony mare Bobby Dazzler passed away acouple of days ago. She was the mother of Nikita, Dakota, Tuckie, Scally Wag, Trebble, and Keanna.
We new her time was getting close and always put off the inevertable. She new though that her time was over and in her own funny way asked me to let her go so she could get on and do what she had to do.
Animals are so special at knowing these sorts of things.
Bobby is the last of the hosres that were special to me as I was growing up. So it is an end of an era in one respect. So thankyou Bobby for all the things you tought me as I was growing up and thak you for the wonderfull offspring that you have left behind for us to continue learning from.

G'day I was told to give this whole blog thing a go.
So here goes.
Slide N Out is going well with trainer Bill Carey. So far he is very cooporable and taking in everything Bill is asking. I will bring him home in another month or so.
The kids are starting to ride their horses alot more. The smiles on their faces after they have finished riding is well worth the effort of going and finding the horses in the paddock and getting them all sorted out.
Scott is busy with the machinery side of things. It is a great feeling to have all the gear working and not sitting in the shed. The down side of not having the machines home in the shed is the horses move in and crap all over the place. Then I have to go down and clean up after them. Better yet just move all the gear out and let me and the horses take over the sheds. Sorry Scott just pulling your leg.
Jeremy had a really good campdraft at Injune with Felix. Now he has run out of drafts to go to for a while. Always the way just when you get on a roll with things they slow up.
Olivia is very excited with the new job she will be starting soon. The move from ACT will be great for her. Although I'm still not sure I want to go visit her in Sydney either.
Dad has been given the all clear by the doctors, which is fantastic news. he still has to have 3 monthly check ups though. The roadhouse is always busy. Which is good for both Dad & Betty. It keeps them out of mischief.
John and Beryl are getting ready for the Kooroorinya races. This is the highlight of their year. Hopefully they have a big roll up.
So much for not having much to say.
Have a good one!!!
