Murray  & Son Earthmoving

Murray and Son Earthmovng was established about 10 years ago by John and Scott Murray as they could see a need in the local area for land development.  At the time scrubb pulling was all the go to economiclly develop large areas of land.  They started out will 2 old D7E's.  As legistations on tree clearing changed so did peoples thoughts on how they wanted their land developed.

A D7G was purchased as well as a 3.5m Active bladeplough.  Eventually the D7G was replaced by a D7H.  As bladeploughing in our region took off it was decided that a bigger dozer was needed so a D8L SA was aquired as well as a 5m Homan Blade Plough.

From humble and dusty beginnings and 2 old D7E's we now have a stable full of Catapillar toys that include the D7H with it's 3.5m blade plough, a 3m cutterbar and stick rake, D8L and 5m blade plough, D9N with cutterbar and stick rake, 14G grader with 14' blade and 428B Backhoe.  And to cart it all there is a Kenworth primemover and quad axle low loader.

D8L

We bought the D8L back in 2006 when we saw the need to pull a bigger bladeplough.  We bought it from Ironfarmers in Rockhampton who imported the machine especially for us from the USA, where it was originally used on a cropping farm.  Since owning it we have used it for scrub pulling, and pulling the bladeplough and renovator.

built by Tillage Traders at Toowoomba.

D9N

The D9N was bought in 2007.  We bought it mostly to do our own work here at Uanda but since owning it hasn't stopped being used for contract work.  It has with it a 35' stick rake which can cover some country pretty fast.  Ideal for clearing fence lines.

D7H

The D7H is a fantastic little work horse.  It is now stabled at our second block, Oaklands, near Charters Towers.  It is a great machine for clearing fence lines and doing fiddly jobs.

14G Grader

We bought the 14G from Sammons Earthmoving, from near Moura where they were contracting it to the mines.  We bought it to do road works contracts for our local shire but have since give those up.  It is now mostly used round the property for our own road maintainance and the odd contract.
